Hello this is first period from Mr. Gillis's geography core class
at Leland High School. For our first semester final we were asked
to make a continent. This continent had to be to scale and fit these
requirements:
CONTINENT
CREATION
REQUIRED
ELEMENTS:
*SIZE
- AT LEAST POSTER BOARD SIZE
*VOLCANIC ACTIVITY
SHOW
EXAMPLES OF ACCURATE VOLCANIC ACTIVITY PLACED CORRECTLY IN ACCORDANCE TO FAULT
LINES, AND PLATE MOVEMENT
*MOUNTAIN CREATION
THE TYPE OF MOUNTAINS AND THE LOCATION SHOULD BE ACCURATE TO
THE TYPE OF PLATE MOVEMENT.( ELEMENTS OF ALL MOVEMENT SHOULD BE PRESENT)
*PHYSICAL FEATURES
LAKES, RIVERS, BAY, GULF, PLAINS, ETC...
YOU MUST HAVE 1 OF ALL PHYSICAL FEATURES ON YOUR GEO. VOCABULARY LIST
*LONGITUDE
AND LATITUDE LINES
SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOCATE PLACES BY USING LAT AND LONG. (INCLUGE AN EQUATOR AND
PRIME MERIDIAN)
*CLIMATE ZONES
CLIMATES SHOULD BE REPRESENTED ON THE CONTINENT

IN ACCORDANCE WITH CLIMATE ZONES, DIFFERENT VEGETATIONS SHOULD BE REPRESENTED
(COLOR CAN SIGNIFY VEGETATION)
*LEGEND
ALL ASPECTS OF THE CONTINENT IDENTIFIED (WHAT DO THE COLOR, LINES ETC MEAN)
*GLOSSARY
ALL MAJOR FEATURES WITH APPROPRIATE LONG/LAT LOCATION
*DIRECTIONAL COMPASS
*SCALE MUST BE CLEARLY STATED AND ACCURATE
*NEEDS TO HAVE 30 OF THE GEOGRAPHICAL TERMS ON THE MAP
This continent toke hard work and lost of time. With a group as reliable as
the one I
was in we were on top of the schedule. We as a group did better than the average
group.
This continent we designed took all of our brain power to design the most
realistic
Continent in the whole class. For more information on this project email me @ [email protected]
We started of with this Idea:

Then it changed to this:

After many hours of hard work it evolved into this:
